Support That Goes Beyond Medicine

We provide direct financial support to patients of New Mexico Cancer Center and Health Specialists of New Mexico – helping with essentials like rent, utilities, transportation, and child care, so they can focus on healing.

Our support goes beyond finances. We offer programs that care for the emotional and psychological well-being of patients and their loved ones during their cancer journey.

We also promote early detection through access to screenings and education, improving outcomes for all New Mexicans. And by offering Continuing Medical Education credits, we help healthcare providers stay current on the latest in cancer care.

Direct Patient Support (Grant Program)

Our grant program provides direct financial support to patients paying rents, mortgages, utilities, transportation, nutrition and any other non-medical financial needs that patients encounter (car repairs, home repairs, day care, etc.) during treatment. This is an application-based program, based on need, open to all patients at the New Mexico Cancer Center. 

Direct Financial Assistance is reserved for patients of the New Mexico Cancer Center practice.  Eligibility criteria is based on financial need, the New Mexico Cancer Center Foundation is a foundation of last resort.  

The Foundation understands that few people plan for illness and have little or no savings available for extended treatment.  For that reason, eligibility is based more on expenses than income.  The application process has been streamlined to allow for a rapid process with the grant committee meeting twice a month.
